Employer and Apprentice in Victoria – Makes Good Business Sense
Bricklayer employer incentives in Victoria are available to not only assist you in taking on, but keeping on, a bricklaying apprentice. Below are some of the bricklayer employer incentives on offer.
Good quality young people are ready and keen to start an apprenticeship in Victoria and to add value to your business. Many have completed industry-sponsored Step Out Programs for school students or pre-apprenticeship/pre-vocational training in bricklaying at a TAFE or Registered Training Organisation.
Employing a Victorian Bricklaying Apprentice
ABBTF Brickstart Subsidy:
ABBTF is the only trade body in Australia providing financial support to its industry members. The Brickstart Subsidy provides up to $3,000 in wage support over three years for bricklayers and builders directly employing bricklaying apprentices – with $1,000 paid on the satisfactory completion of each of the first three years of the apprenticeship.
Federal Government Subsidy:
A $4,000 grant is available over the life of the Apprenticeship together with other specific benefits. These are included in the ABBTF brochure below and further details are available at the Australian Apprenticeships website.
Group Training Organisation Hosting:
Bricklayers and builders wishing to employ a new apprentice through a Group Training Organisation (GTO) should enquire in relation to SAAB funding arrangements with the GTO. View Victorian GTO locations.
