Uni Engineering Students Laying Bricks at Wollongong

A group of final year Engineering students from the University of Wollongong participated in a “brick off” learning initiative to put theory into practice at Illawarra TAFE.

It was the first time university students had taken part in the hands-on workshop run by TAFE building and construction teachers.

Tasmania: The Home of Quality Bricklayers

Anyone visiting Tasmania knows it is home to many of the finest examples of colonial brick and masonry buildings in the country.

What is perhaps less widely known is that Tasmania also produces some of the best bricklayers in the country, playing a very important role in the local construction industry.
