SA Apprentices Compete at Golden Trowel

The National 2013 CMAA Golden Trowel event saw a strong performance from SA apprentices Sam Spears and Teodor Kleinschmidt, with support from TAFE SA trainer Eric Parletta.  The Golden Trowel competition was held in Coffs Harbour and involved teams from 12 TAFE’s across Australia.

The Concrete Masonry Association of Australia (CMAA) has run the Golden Trowel event every two years for the past 20 years and attracts high quality apprentices.

Tassie Apprentices Shine at Golden Trowel Competition

A Tasmanian apprentice bricklaying team mixed it with ‘the best’ at the 2013 CMAA Golden Trowel Competition in Coffs Harbour last month.  Apprentices Samuel Wells, Sam Barratt and their trainer Paul McKay from TasTAFE competed with teams from eleven other TAFE’s from across Australia.

The Golden Trowel Competition is run by the Concrete Masonry Association of Australia (CMAA) and has been held every two years for the past twenty years.

WA Apprentices at 2013 National Golden Trowel Competition

A WA team recently matched the best in the country when competing against 11 other TAFE’s at the Golden Trowel competition in Coffs Harbour (early September). Western Australia’s team consisted of Team Leader Eddie Campbell of Polytechnics West, Simon Ripepi of ABN Training and Alan Ramsden of HIA Training.

The competition is a major event for the Concrete Masonry Association of Australia (CMAA) which is held every two years.  The Golden Trowel Award is supported by ABBTF as the major sponsor.
