Western Australia continues to generate first class bricklaying apprentices who are doing their employers and industry proud.

Every year Employers and Hosts come together with Training providers to identify “stand out” apprentices who deserve recognition for their efforts in the field, in training or in competition.

Competitions such as WorldSkills Australia’s Regionals are an excellent vehicle for helping us identify and nurture high achievers.

Call to Lift Levels of Females in Bricklaying Apprenticeships

Female Bricklayers 4 images wth Captions“Since ABBTF’s beginning in March 2007, I have been very lucky to meet a wide range of bricklaying apprentices of different year levels, ages, diverse cultures and backgrounds”, reports Dean Pearson ABBTF’s State Manager.

All of ABBTF’s female apprentices in our trade have done very well in both the apprenticeship and in industry.  Here is a list of female apprentices that have stood out from the others in terms of their application, trade skills and general dedication to the trade and industry.

Extra FAB $2,000 Support for Employers of Female Apprentice Bricklayers in WA

Tory Lea 2015 with CaptionABBTF has announced an additional support program to encourage the employment of new female apprentices in bricklaying.

The Female Apprentice Bricklayer (FAB) support will entitle employers to a $2,000 subsidy on the completion of first year.  While the support has just been launched, employers of current female bricklaying apprentices who commenced from 1 July 2015 will also be eligible to claim the support when their FAB apprentice’s first year is completed.
