Sam Barratt has followed in his brothers footsteps by winning the Tasmanian Regional WorldSkills Bricklaying Competition on 27 September at TasTAFE. Sam won the event from Jacob Homan from Launceston who finished a very close second and Samuel Wells from East Devonport who finished third.
Sam is employed by his father Colin Barratt whose other two sons, Ben and Matt, had previously won the Tasmanian event and competed in the National WorldSkills Competition in 2010 and 2012. By winning the competition, Sam becomes eligible to compete in the 2014 National WorldSkills Competition in Perth. The winner of the national event can then compete at the WorldSkills International Competition in Brazil in 2015.
