More than 7,500 school students from 48 secondary schools, along with parents and the community attended to gain important information on a range of career options.
The ABBTF stand was prominent and included a Try-a-Trade to give students a hands-on opportunity to lay a few bricks. There was also plenty of information on bricklaying apprenticeships and how it opens doors to many careers in the construction industry.
The event is also an opportunity for employers to see the promotion of bricklaying and the potential to sign on a new apprentice in the near future.
A good number of students requested bricklaying work experience opportunities. The event was held over two days and was available to parents with a later finish on the first day.
